Worcestershire County Cricket Club are delighted to announce the appointment of three new Board Directors.
The Club welcome Claire Daniel-Lepore, James Watts and Simon Williams onto the Board, officially joining the Club this month, as Non-Executive Directors.
Adding a wide array of industry experience acquired over multiple sectors, the newly appointed trio will bring valuable expertise to the Board following a three-month recruitment process led by the Nominations Committee of the Club.
Both Simon and James have also been immediately added to the Masterplan & Development Committee, in addition to their board positions.
Worcestershire CCC Chair, Dominic Riley explained the significance of the appointments to the Board at the Club.

“Claire, James and Simon bring a wealth of knowledge and a breadth of industry expertise to the Board, which will be invaluable in supporting the Executive team as we navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead.
“As we continue to build on the rich heritage at Worcestershire County Cricket Club and seek a bright, sustainable and secure future, we are thrilled to be confirming their appointments at such a pivotal time.”
Claire Daniel-Lepore
CEO of the Edgbaston Priory Club, Claire has been heavily involved in the opening of a new stadium, negotiated contracts, managed broadcast and players operations across three major sporting tournaments, many of which included cricket during her 14 years involved within the game.
A valued Senior member of the management team at eight Gold Cups and two Ryder Cups, Claire has professional experience in a plethora of other sporting venues such as Twickenham and Goodwood.
Claire joins the Board as a Non-Executive Director.

“Having spent 14 years working in professional cricket and now serving as CEO of a private members’ club, I look forward to bringing a mix of sports governance and commercial venue expertise to the team.
“I’m excited to support the board, staff, and members as we continue to build a bright and sustainable future for the Club.”
Simon Williams
A member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Simon is the Head of National Development at Newlands Developments, having played a central role in the founding of the business in 2018.
Simon was previously a major shareholder at Roxhill Developments, based in Rugby, which was purchased by SEGRO PLC in 2018.
Simon has secured planning consent on several major employment sites throughout the UK and facilitated the delivery of commercial developments for the likes of Amazon, DHL and Nestle.
Simon joins the Club as a Non-Executive Director.
“I am thrilled to be joining the board at the Club, with Worcestershire County Cricket Club holding a place as one of the key pillars of the City as a valued sporting institution and iconic setting within our community.
“The exciting opportunities that lie ahead of the Club both on and off the field, as well as the chance to help build on its esteemed heritage, were a driving factor in my desire to contribute to the Club.
“I look forward to working closely with the driven and ambitious Board members, senior executives and wider team at New Road.”
James Watts
A Director at Arup, a global built environment consultancy, James has gathered almost 25 years’ experience delivering major regeneration and development projects across the UK.
He has worked with public and private sector organisations to plan, deliver and oversee complex projects, with a particular focus on place-making, stakeholder engagement and project leadership.
James joins the Board as a Non-Executive Director.

“It is a Club with a proud history, woven into the life of Worcestershire, and one facing some important decisions about its future.
“Those kinds of long-term questions have been the focus of my career, and I look forward to helping colleagues across the Club support its success on and off the field.”
