NEWLANDS – The Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) has proudly congratulated Claire Terblanche, head coach of the World Sports Betting Western Province Women’s team, on her appointment to the Proteas Women’s coaching staff for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 in India and the ODI tour of Pakistan.
The 40-year-old Terblanche joins head coach Mandla Mashimbyi’s management team as South Africa prepares for two key assignments: a three-match ODI series against Pakistan in Lahore from 16–22 September, and the global showpiece Women’s World Cup in India from 30 September to 2 November 2025.
Successful domestic season earns national call-up

Corrie van Zyl, WPCA Chief Executive Officer, said:
“Claire’s progression to the national team is a clear indicator of the strength of our coaching structures and our commitment to developing women’s cricket at all levels. Her strategic insight and leadership will be a tremendous asset for the Proteas.”

Clinton du Preez, WPCA Cricket Services Manager, added:
“This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the dedication, passion, and expertise she has shown in growing the women’s game at provincial level. Her appointment reflects the hard work and talent within our structures.”
