Zaheer Khan has joined the Vancouver Anchors as Co-Owner, becoming part of the ownership group behind the franchise’s men’s and women’s teams ahead of Canada Super 60 Season 2.
The former India fast bowler joins Nagendra “Naga” Siddoutam and Stockholm-based Anchor Sports AB at the Anchors. His move also reconnects him with former India teammate Yuvraj Singh within the wider Canada Super 60 ecosystem, with Singh already serving as a Co-Owner of the competition.
Zaheer Khan joins Vancouver Anchors ownership group
Zaheer’s involvement brings his experience in international cricket, high-performance environments, team culture and player development into the Vancouver ownership structure. The Anchors will compete at BC Place as part of a league staging both men’s and women’s competitions.
Khan said in a statement: “Canada Super 60 is a first-class product, staged at one of the world’s most iconic venues, in a city with its own character and charm. Knowing Yuvraj — my friend and teammate for so many years — is part of the league’s ownership gives me real confidence in its direction. Cricket’s next phase of growth has to be global. As former players, we owe it to the game to back credible leagues that create real opportunities for associate-nation players and women cricketers. I can’t wait to be in Vancouver and share this new chapter with my buddy Yuvi.”
Zaheer and Yuvraj were teammates throughout significant periods of their India careers, including the country’s 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup triumph. Their roles in Canada now place them on different sides of the same broader venture, with Zaheer joining the Vancouver franchise ownership group while Yuvraj remains involved at league level.
Canada Super 60 Co-Owner Yuvraj Singh said in a statement: “I’m thrilled to welcome my buddy and long-time teammate Zaheer Khan to the Canada Super 60 family. Zak and I have shared some of the biggest moments of our careers, and coming together again for this chapter feels special. I’m equally excited by the commitment Naga and Anchor Sports have shown to cricket in associate nations and the women’s game. Vancouver has owners with ambition, credibility, and real intent to create opportunities for players. Zaheer brings experience, energy, and drive to the league.”
Anchor Sports backs Vancouver’s men’s and women’s teams
Anchor Sports AB’s ownership covers both Vancouver Anchors franchises, placing the men’s and women’s teams within the same ownership group. The structure forms part of the group’s stated focus on building competitive teams while supporting opportunities across both competitions.
Anchor Sports AB and Vancouver Anchors Owner Nagendra “Naga” Siddoutam said in a statement: “The structure and vision of Canada Super 60 make it a genuinely special league. Placing men’s and women’s cricket on the same major platform shows both deserve investment and visibility — that aligns strongly with how we think as a group. Vancouver is diverse, international, and forward-looking, making it the ideal home for the Anchors. Zaheer adds exceptional cricketing knowledge, leadership, and authenticity to our ownership group. Together, we want to build competitive teams, create lasting opportunities for players, and build a franchise Vancouver’s communities and cricket fans everywhere can call their own.”
Khan’s addition gives the Vancouver ownership group another prominent cricket figure ahead of the competition’s return, while strengthening the league’s connection with former international players involved in its ownership structure.
Canada Super 60 prepares for second season
Canada Super 60 Chairman and Founder Abhishek Shah said in a statement: “We’re honoured and thrilled to welcome Zaheer Khan, Naga, and Anchor Sports to the Canada Super 60 family. Zaheer’s standing in world cricket and his commitment to giving back make this partnership hugely meaningful. We’re not just building a short-format competition, we’re building a platform connecting global cricketing excellence with Canadian talent, associate-nation players, and the women’s game. When respected cricket leaders and serious international investors back that vision, it strengthens our belief in what we can build together.”
Season 2 of the Canada Super 60 is scheduled to run from September 29 to October 4, 2026, at BC Place in Vancouver. The competition will feature six teams and 24 matches across its men’s and women’s contests.
Khan is expected to be in Vancouver for the event, with his addition to the Anchors ownership group completed ahead of the league’s return to BC Place later this month.
