Toronto, Canada – A new cricket league is set to launch in Canada, aiming to expand the sport’s presence in North America. The Canada Super 60 League, a joint initiative by Star 333 Sports Inc. and Cricket Canada, is scheduled to debut in July 2025 in Toronto.
The tournament will feature a 10-over format, a fast-paced structure designed to appeal to both traditional cricket fans and new audiences. Organizers describe it as a major step in growing the sport in Canada, with a focus on both men’s and women’s competitions and a goal of reaching new demographics.
The league is being championed by former Indian cricket star Yuvraj Singh, who has been actively involved in its development.
A Milestone for Canadian Cricket
The Canada Super 60 League will be the first North American league to feature both men’s and women’s tournaments from its inaugural season. This decision is seen as a significant step toward promoting women’s cricket, providing increased competitive opportunities for female players in Canada.
The tournament will begin with eight teams, each consisting of:
- Local Canadian players
- International professionals
- A set number of players from associate cricket nations
By including players from emerging cricket nations, the tournament aims to contribute to global cricket development while showcasing a diverse range of talent. The first season will be played in Toronto, with expansion plans for other Canadian cities in the future.
The league is introduced under the tagline “The Future is Here,” emphasizing its mission to develop new talent and strengthen Canada’s status in the international cricketing landscape.
