THE HOBART HURRICANES ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE FIXTURES FOR THE UPCOMING REBEL WBBL|06 AND KFC BBL|10 SEASONS.

These fixtures are expected to have some movement moving closer to the competition commencement and are not set in stone.

The WBBL fixture sees four matches being played in Tasmania in late October, with a venue still to be confirmed. The Hobart Hurricanes will play in two of these four matches, with two neutral matcheslocked in for the same weekend.

The male schedule kicks off in early December this year, with the Hobart Hurricanes playing all seven of their home games here in Tasmania including the traditional festive celebration on Christmas Eve and two matches at University of Tasmania Stadium in Launceston.

General Manager of the Hobart Hurricanes, Scott Barnes, noted the difficulty in scheduling matches through a pandemic.

“You only have to look at the winter sporting codes to see just how difficult it is to organise elite sport at the moment, and while Big Bash doesn’t start for a few more months we’re still dealing with a lot of unknowns and uncertainty”, said Barnes. “We have to ensure a safe and successful Big Bash competition, so we all need to be prepared for some movement in the fixture.”

“It’s these same challenges that see us playing less WBBL on home soil this year, but I know that our fans will make sure the matches against the Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades will be ones to remember.”

“All seven of our Big Bash home games will be played here in Tasmania, and we’re pleased to again be hosting the traditional Christmas Eve match at Blundstone Arena and taking two matches to the fans in the north.”

“It’s been widely reported that the Hobart Hurricanes have a really strong emotional connection with our fans, and while Tasmania and the rest of the country continue to battle through the coronavirus pandemic we are committed to ensuring that we put on the best show of world-class cricket that we possibly can.”
