Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has advised private cricket academies to get registered and receive their license from ACB. This process initiated today as three private academies received their licenses from ACB’s acting CEO Mr. Nazeem Jar Abdul Rahmizai in a meeting at ACB Head office.

The owners from Ayubi Cricket Academy, Zarmalwal Cricket Academy and Victory Cricket Academy present at the meeting today appreciated this initiative from ACB and called it a significant program for the growth of cricket in Afghanistan. They expressed hope that other academies will also follow suit which, without a doubt, will validate and improve the quality of their cricket.
Mr. Nazeem Jar Abdul Rahimzai stated “I am happy that for the first time and based on the request of private sector in Afghanistan, we commence the process for the issuance of licenses to the private academies in the country. ACB will also use these academies for training camps if required. After the academies receive their licenses, they will act in accordance with our rules and regulations”
He further added that it is expected from the owners of these academies to provide a standardized platform and maximum facilities to the coaches and players concerned.
The process has been initiated since two months by ACB’s Game Development Department after officials visited these academies on frequent basis to encourage them to get registered.
The academies registered with ACB will enjoy and benefit from the capacity building, management and technical advice from ACB. In addition to that, their players will be invited for the trials and tests. On the other hand, the academies that do not register will be ineligible for the above mentioned privileges and their activities will be considered illegal.
