A third consecutive half-century from Usman Ghani and another great bowling performance from Sharafuddin Ashraf ensured DFI Band-e Amir Dragons continue their domination in the Etisalat 4G Shpageeza Cricket League as they beat Ahmadzai Amo Sharks by 7 wickets in the 6th match of the tournament.

Dragons’ skipper Asghar Afghan won the toss earlier and opted to field first in their third match of the tournament. Sharks’ skipper Javed Ahmadi and youngster Farhan Zakhail provided a blistering opening stand for them before losing their wicket in the same over to an in-form Sharafuddin Ashraf. The Sharks could not capitalize on the quick opening stand as they continued to lost wickets at regular intervals. However, Darwish Rasooli played a great knock for them scoring his first half-century this year, to help Ahmadzai Amo Sharks 142/5 on board in the first innings.

In response, The DFI Band-e Amir Dragons’ opening pair of Hazratullah Zazai and Usman Ghani provided them with a solid 69-run stand before Zazai lost his wicket to young leggie Abdul Wasi in the 7th over of the chase. In the end, Wasi was the only bowler who took wickets for the Sharks with three wickets off his 4 overs as DFI Band-e Amir Dragons chased down the target in 17.3 overs.

The second match of the day will be played between Hazrat Ltd. Mis-e Ainak Knights and ACTU Speenghar Tigers at 01:30 PM.
