ACB: Director of Cricket represents Afghanistan at ACC meeting

The Director of Cricket at Afghanistan Cricket Board, Mr. Raees Ahmadzai represented the organization at the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council where the full-members and some associate members of the Council took part through video-conferencing.

In his address, Mr. Ahmadzai provided a comprehensive presentation about the history and achievements of Afghanistan Cricket, its struggles as well as its status as a wonderful addition to world cricket.

Mr. Ahmadzai also provided a detailed analysis on the huge potential of cricketing talent in Afghanistan and how the country continues to produce rare talent especially spin bowlers frequently. He also pointed out the impact that top Afghan spinners have had in such a short time at the global stage.

Ahmadzai added that women’s cricket in Afghanistan is still faced with some traditional challenges, however, ACB is committed to a strong women cricket structure and talent production in future.

He further added, “Without doubt with hard work and determination, dreams do come true and Afghanistan Cricket is a living example of it. Afghan cricketers have been through various hurdles and struggles to enjoy its results today.”

The participants, which also included officials from the International Cricket Council (ICC), appreciated Afghanistan Cricket Board’s efforts to promote the game and keep the enthusiasm, love and passion of the game well alive in the country.
