Moises Henriques selected in 18-man Australian squad for upcoming India series.

Sydney Sixers BBL captain Moises Henriques has been recalled to the Australian One-Day and T20 International squad joining Sean Abbott, Steve Smith and Josh Hazlewood, all members of the Sixers’ squad that won BBL|09 last summer.

Henriques’ last match in national colours was played in October 2017 and his selection follows an impressive last 12 months in all formats.

The squad has been chosen for the three One-Day Internationals and T20 Internationals against India, held in Sydney and Canberra, starting at the SCG on November 27.

Henriques led the Sixers to the KFC Big Bash League title last summer with a season strike rate of just under 150 and has scored more 700 runs against the red ball during that period, including 167 for the NSW Blues last week.

‘It’s always nice to get some external recognition, but I want to continue to focus on trying my best to learn and improve as a person and of course a cricketer,’ Henriques said.

National selector Trevor Hohns said Moises added much experience to the group.

“Moises is a great person to have around the group,” Hohns said.

“His form was extremely impressive in leading the Sixers to the BBL title last summer and he has played well at the start of this season.”
