Must Read

Ben Cutting or Dan Christian? AB de Villiers or Matthew Hayden, or maybe Brendon McCullum? Where does Chris Lynn fit in . . . how about the bowling options? Is it spin to win with Mitch Swepson, Dan Vettori and Samuel Badree or does all-out pace with James Pattinson, Ryan Harris and Kemar Roach sound like the right combination?

Brisbane Heat fans will have the chance to answer such BBL-based conundrums with the launch of the Brisbane Heat All Stars team this week.

Celebrating 10 years of the Heat in the KFC Big Bash League, the online promotion will allow fans to choose their all-time teal dream team.

PICK YOUR ALL STARS

There are 67 players to choose from, featuring the current BBL|10 playing squad as well as all players who took to the field for at least one game for Brisbane.

Fans who choose and submit their team are encouraged to use the hashtag #HeatAllStars and showcase their selecting abilities.

The competition will run until next month, with a $2,000 Betta Home Living voucher awarded to one lucky fan on 18 December, just in time for Christmas!

The ultimate Brisbane Heat All Stars team will also be revealed as voted for by the fans, with the 11 players and 12th man afforded the honour of being in the club’s first ever all-time All Star Team.

Heat principal partner CUA, major partner Betta and official sponsors National Storage, Toyota and Village Roadshow Theme Parks are backing the All Stars concept which will bring together Heat fans in the lead-in to the opening weeks of BBL|10.

The Heat played in the first ever game in the BBL, with a team containing Hayden, McCullum and Vettori taking on the Sydney Sixers, including Brett Lee, at the SCG.

Brisbane won the competition in BBL|02 and have forged a reputation as one of the competition’s most thrilling teams across the ensuing seasons.

Brisbane Heat Commercial and Marketing Manager Pete Lock said the club hoped fans enjoyed the challenge of picking their team of All Stars.

“The club has been very fortunate to have fielded some of the game’s absolute superstars, but we also are proud of the opportunities that local Queensland players have had to showcase their skills in front of big crowds at the Gabba and around the world through our broadcast partners,” he said.

“It’s been an exciting and memorable 10 seasons and we’re pleased to be able to acknowledge the wonderful contributions of the players, past and present, as we head into BBL|10.”

“And with the outstanding success of the WBBL Brisbane Heat, which are contesting the Finals series in the rebel Women’s Big Bash League this week for the third year in a row, rest assured we are looking forward to a WBBL Heat All Stars launch in time for their 10th anniversary season  in a few years times,” Lock said.
