The Vicchi family have been members since BBL|07. We caught up with Daniella to find out why her family love being part of the Thunder Nation.
When did you join as Members?
Daniella: We became Members in 2017 after attending a few matches with our children. We also joined the Captain’s Club that same season.
We enjoyed the atmosphere so much and knew we had to be a part of the Thunder family officially. All four of us are Sydney Thunder members now.
Favourite Sydney Thunder moment?
It was when an official came up to our daughter after a match and handed her the match ball. It made her feel so special.
Getting to meet the players and going behind the scenes for a Captains Club event in 2018 was another highlight. We also cannot forget when our daughter won the half-time Nickelodeon competition which consisted of a very special family holiday to Sea World! The Toyota Fanzone was lot of fun too.
All-time favourite Sydney Thunder player?
First and foremost, the mighty Daniel Sams! Our son Gabriel says it’s a tie between Usman Khawaja or Callum Ferguson.
What makes the Vicchi family such passionate Thunder fans?
We are a cricket loving family. The Big Bash is fun, exciting and interactive. It is a very family-oriented, family-focused environment.
What keeps you renewing year after year?
We love that the game brings our family together in such a special way. We sit in the front row, wear our merchandise, buckets on our heads, eat our hotdogs and have a fabulous time.
When you go to Thunder games, or watch on TV, do you feel part of the broader Thunder Nation family?
We certainly do. This is why we keep coming back each year and will continue to do so.
Even off the field, communicating with Thunder staff has always been a pleasure and we feel very much appreciated as Members.
