So far so good. That’s the consensus shared by the Captain and Vice-Captain of the West Indies Women’s team, Stafanie Taylor and Anisa Mohammed, when asked how has the first week of training camp been.

The camp is the first since Courtney Walsh was appointed as the new Head Coach in September of 2020. For Taylor, it is a refreshing start for the year under the watchful eye of batting coach Robert Samuels, a former Jamaica captain and West Indies batman.

Joining Stafanie in singing the praises is Mohammed, the experienced vice-captain. Mohammed said:

I think with camp we are doing a lot more of the basics and getting the basics right and if you don’t know the basics then you can’t execute properly…. I think that’s what was needed. In the last few years, we have not done that, and I am enjoying my sessions.

The West Indies Women coaching staff at camp will is being led by Courtney Walsh and assisting him are former West Indies players Corey Collymore, Robert Samuels and Ryan Austin, along with former regional players Steve Liburd and Samantha Lynch.
