- The Umpires for the 2021 Men’s National Championships have been chosen by the newly established Umpire Appointments Panel (UAP)
- The first ever UAP will also help with the ranking of umpires and the selection of the USA Cricket National Umpiring and Development Panels.
USA Cricket is pleased to announce the appointment of its first ever Umpire Appointment Panel. The four individuals appointed were chosen from among a pool of nominees identified as having a high level of certification and training, vast umpiring experience at a high level, and a knowledge of umpires and domestic cricket across the USA. They have also all been serving the umpiring community in this country for many years, and have been appointed through until the end of 2022.

- Anwer Shahabuddin (Texas)
The role of the UAP is defined in the UAP Guidelines and Procedures, and will include assisting the process of ranking of all Category 3 and 4 umpires; appointing umpires to the USA Cricket National Umpiring Panel; supporting the appointment of umpires to the Development Umpiring Panels to be established in each Zone; and appointing umpires for matches and competitions organized and staged by USA Cricket.
As their first task they have appointed the eight standing umpires and five reserve umpires who will be officiating at the Men’s National Championships at the MLC National Cricket Center at Prairie View Cricket Complex later this month. These umpires have been chosen from across the country, and the group includes USA Cricket’s three representatives on the ICC’s International Panel of ICC Development Umpires.
