  • Flexible location and Hybrid Working

Here’s the deal…

We’re looking for a driven Head of Business Operations to join our W/BBL team. Reporting to the General Manager, Big Bash Leagues you’ll be responsible for ensuring the W/BBL implements best-practice business models, processes and programs, driving growth across the League in core consumer and commercial metrics and supporting Clubs in key areas such as attendance, membership, retail, audience and sponsorship.

This is an amazing opportunity to join a purpose driven organisation in a role that will play a critical role in the delivery of the BBL. Uniting and inspiring communities through Cricket is our culture, and we’ve never been prouder of the role our people play in making Cricket a sport for all Australians.

About the role

The Head of Business Operations plays a critical leadership role not only within our BBL team but across the league and will be tasked with building the next phase of our structure to help us deliver on our strategic priorities. We are on a significant growth journey and this role will be critical to our success.

Prominent leadership and hands-on partnership with clubs and delivery across four key areas will enable success in this role including club strategy where you will establish and implement Club-specific and League-wide strategies, initiatives, and delivery models to support the growth and performance of BBL clubs. This will include strategic expertise, benchmarking and guidance for clubs around key revenue streams (think ticketing, membership, commercial partnerships, licensing).

Consumer growth and key customer metrics across the league will be a clear focus). You will partner with clubs on their ticketing and membership strategies, along with retail and audiences, driving innovation and product development across all customer aspects. You will collaborate with CA Marketing to guide the marketing and brand strategy for the league and other internal CA departments to ensure plans drive awareness, interest, viewership, and attendance.

Highly adept commercial leadership will see you partner with Clubs and CA Commercial to develop new business opportunities to drive additional revenue and review current commercial models and support Clubs in optimising returns for their State Associations and Australian Cricket. You will play a key role in reinforcing BBL as the preferred entertainment for families across summer through targeted, strategic partnerships.

W/BBL Business Operations will see you identify and lead best-practice business models, processes and programs in order to optimise the delivery of the WBBL and BBL competitions each season. This will include key Club-related policies such as the commercial guidelines, Team Participation Agreements and various Club funding programs)

About you

It’s pretty clear, our ideal candidate will bring demonstrable experience to this role. You’ll be leading the way on many fronts so previous experience in a leadership role in a complex stakeholder environment is preferred. If you’ve got significant contemporary experience in a professional League or Club environment – awesome!

We are looking for someone who prides themselves on building outstanding stakeholder relationships and is a well-seasoned, inspirational people leader – we’ve got a high performing and dedicated team for you to bring on the journey.
