Bio

Mirwais Ashraf is a former Afghanistan International cricketer and current administrator. 

He made his debut in 2009, featuring in 46 ODIs and 25 T20Is. He played his last International game for Afghanistan in 2016. However, he kept playing professionally until Oct 2020.

Ashraf is currently the Chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, a role he has been performing since Nov 06, 2021, along his role as a board member. 

Previously, Ashraf served Afghanistan Cricket in different capacities, most notably as Chief Selector of the Afghanistan National Men’s Cricket Team for 2 months before becoming the Chairman of the ACB. He also served as a regional coach for ACB.

Ashraf was among the initial group of players who helped cricket in Afghanistan develop into an international contender, and is now focused on developing Afghan Cricket and expanding the game to all parts of the country.

Ashraf is also Afghanistan’s Representative in the ICC Board of Directors after ICC officially recognized him in April 2022
