MCC IS PLEASED TO BE HOSTING A DIGLOT EDITION OF THE LAWS OF CRICKET, IN ENGLISH AND HINDI, ON OUR LAWS OF CRICKET WEBSITE.

The Laws of Cricket are global, and we hope that this Diglot edition, which features the Laws text and Hindi translations side by side, line by line, will increase access to, and understanding of the Laws for a Hindi-speaking audience.

“WE ARE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE WORK THAT HAS GONE INTO PREPARING THIS EDITION’”

Fraser Stewart, Head of Cricket at MCC, said: “The opportunity for players, umpires, coaches and supporters to read the Laws in their own language, with the original alongside it for reference, is fantastic, and we are extremely grateful for all the work that has gone into preparing this edition.

“Thanks go to former Test umpire SK Bansal for his work on the translation, his sons Amit Bansal and the late Shri Sumit Bansal, and Mr Shivam Aggarwal, whose technical assistance and support has been instrumental in getting this edition published.”

Translations of the Laws of Cricket are vital for spreading the game, and we rely on volunteers, linguists and Governing Bodies to help with that effort. If you would like to contribute to translations, please get in touch at laws@lords.org.

The Diglot edition of the Laws of Cricket can be read below.
