WA Cricket’s Term One School Ambassador of the Term has been awarded to Dan Rodgers.

Rodgers was recognised for his continued success at Deanmore Primary School as he grows the love of cricket during physical education sessions in term one and four, delivering a girls only Cricket Blast centre, as well as his strong links with Scarborough Cricket Club.

Over 70 girls enjoyed playing cricket before school for seven weeks in term one with years three to six playing on Mondays and Pre Primary to year two students playing on Wednesdays.

These exclusive sessions instilled the value and fun of volunteering with the year three to six players helping the younger players during their sessions and strengthened the relationship between the local cricket club and school with Scarborough Cricket Club volunteers supporting the program.

The final session was celebrated with a special appearance from Perth Scorchers mascot Blaze who had his photo taken with all participants.

If that isn’t enough cricket at school, Dan also entered three girls and three boys teams from Deanmore Primary School into the inaugural Scarborough Cricket Carnival. The school won both competitions, advancing them into the regional finals in term four.

Rodgers is passionate about this cricket program and says he will do it until he retires! Thank you, Dan, for all that you do and bring to the students at Deanmore Primary School.
