The ICC World Cup qualifiers are in full swing in neighbouring Zimbabwe and already a host of Betway SA20 stars have made a significant impact. All the matches are being played in Harare and Bulawayo.

Former World Cup champions West Indies boast the largest contingent of Betway SA20 players with Durban’s Super Giants trio of all-rounders Jason Holder, Kyle Mayers and Keemu Paul are all in Zimbabwe along with Joburg Super Kings fast bowler Alzarri Joseph.

Holder made telling contributions with bat and ball in the Windies’ two victories over the USA and Nepal respectively with a crucial half-century against the Americans before claiming 3/34 to blow away the South Asian nation.

Joseph has also claimed four wickets across the two matches, while Paul picked up two against Nepal.

Fellow former World Cup champions Sri Lanka also have an array of Betway SA talent in the squad in the form of Pretoria Capitals star wicket-keeper/batter Kusal Mendis and Joburg Super Kings mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana.

Mendis, who has carried his fine form from the Betway SA20 tournament through to the international stage this year across all formats, showed his class with a fine 78 in Sri Lanka’s opening victory over the United Arab Emirates.

Although outshined by his compatriot Wanindu Hasaranga (6/24), Theekshana delivered an economical spell of 1/43 in his 10 overs against the UAE.

Another Pretoria Capitals star Josh Little is charging in for Ireland in Zimbabwe with the left-armer also claiming four wickets thus far in his team’s two matches against Oman and neighbours Scotland.
