Cricket South Africa (CSA) is offering one lucky fan a once in a lifetime opportunity – to watch the Proteas play at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup India 2023 later this year.

As the national team prepare for their exciting season-opening home series against old rivals Australia starting this month, those fans that buy tickets and attend any of the eight matches will stand a chance to win this unprecedented prize.

The Australians arrive in the country towards the end of August when they will take on South Africa in three KFC T20 Internationals (T20Is) before a five match Betway One-Day International (ODI) series during September.

To be eligible for the unique prize of a trip to India, fans need to buy two tickets and attend any of the matches during the 30 August to 17 September tour. The three T20Is are all being played at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium in Durban, while the ODIs are being held in Bloemfontein, Centurion and Johannesburg.

Furthermore, they would need to follow the Proteas on social media and send a video or text message of support to the Proteas for the World Cup, using the hashtag #ProudToBePartOfTheProteas and tagging the men’s team.

The winner will be drawn during the innings break of the final match of the Betway ODI series at the DP World Wanderers Stadium on Sunday, 17 September. The winner, together with a partner, will then jet off to Lucknow, India to watch South Africa play Australia at the World Cup on 13 October.

“This is a fantastic opportunity and wonderful incentive that we as CSA are offering to our fans,” commented Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki. “We are all excited about this competition which will give supporters a rare chance of getting behind the team at the World Cup in India. Watching the Proteas live is itself a great occasion; and doing so at a World Cup tournament may just be an unforgettable experience for any cricket fan.”

Tickets for the Australia tour have already gone on sale with prices starting at R100 for adults. Children under the age of seven are allowed free entry, while several discounts are available for students/scholars as well as pensioners.

Competition terms and conditions are available here.
