The second Betway SA20 auction takes place on Wednesday, 27 September with each of the six teams still to complete their 19-players squads, which will include a Rookie for the first time.

Betway SA20 runs through how each squad is currently shaping up, and what each team will likely want from the auction. Let’s take a look at…

Durban’s Super Giants

Naveen-ul-Haq Murid (Afghanistan), Dilshan Madushanka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa (both Sri Lanka)

Remaining player slots: 3

Auction: 1

Wildcard: 1

What they might want:

DSG coach Lance Klusener has done the majority of his business prior to the auction. He has also installed a new captain with Keshav Maharaj taking over from Quinton de Kock. After overloading on wicket-keeper batters last season, the composition of the Super Giants squad is much more balanced for Season 2. With all their bases covered, particularly in regards to strength in depth amongst the all-founders with Jon-Jon Smuts having been traded in from Sunrisers Eastern Cape too, the Super Giants may turn their focus to acquiring a leg-spinner, which is the only obvious omission from their squad at the moment.

Potential purchases:

Izharulhaq Naveed (Base price: R425 000), Shafiqullah Ghafari (R175 000), Peter Hatzoglou (R175 000), Nathan Sowter (R425 000), Mason Crane (R425 000), Matt Parkinson (R175 000), Usman Qadir (R425 000), Christopher Greaves (R175 000), Junaid Dawood (R175 000), Caleb Saleka (R175 000), Thomas Kaber (R175 000), *Peter Nqaba (R75 000), Shaun von Berg (R175 000), Lakshan Sandakan (R425 000), Jeffrey Vandersay (R425 000), Hayden Walsh (R425 000), Yannic Cariah (R175 000).
