Proteas Women duo Marizanne Kapp and Lara Goodall will miss the rest of the ongoing T20 International (T20I) series against New Zealand due to injury.

Kapp sustained a bruise to her lower right leg after being hit by a ball during the second T20I on Sunday, 08 October at Buffalo Park in East London. Meanwhile, Goodall experienced a right ankle sprain during a warm-up fielding drill ahead of the aforementioned encounter.

Both players underwent routine X-rays, which revealed no fractures. before they were released from the national set-up for rest, recovery and physiotherapy. The pair is expected back in training in the next week ahead of respective domestic action in the Women’s Big Bash League and the CSA Professional Domestic Women’s League.

After three encounters between the Proteas and New Zealand were decided by inclement weather at the start of the five-match series, the T20Is move to the City of Ekurhuleni, where Willowmoore Park in Benoni will host back-to-back matches on Saturday, 14 October and Sunday, 15 October.

The matches will get underway at 14h00 SAST, with tickets on sale at TicketPros.co.za from R40.
