Cricket Scotland is saddened to learn of the recent passing of former Scottish Cricket Union President, Jack Kennedy, at the age of 93.

Jack Kennedy served as President of the Scottish Cricket Union in 1995. He was up until his death the longstanding Honorary President of Ferguslie Cricket Club, following a long playing career with both Ferguslie and, for three years in the 1960s, with Penicuik Cricket Club. Thereafter, he was heavily involved in many roles at Ferguslie and was well respected, admired and loved by those whose path he crossed.

Earlier this year, in recognition of his outstanding contribution and commitment to Ferguslie Cricket Club, the pavilion at Meikleriggs was named the Jack Kennedy Pavilion in his honour.

Mr Kennedy’s funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 31 at 2pm, at Woodside Crematorium, 46 Broomlands St, Paisley PA1 2NP. For those unable to attend in person, but who wish to virtually, a webcast of the service will be available with details below.

Everyone at Cricket Scotland sends their condolences and best wishes to Mr Kennedy’s family, friends, and all those connected with Ferguslie Cricket Club.
