Richard Illingworth and Richard Kettleborough will both stand in this week’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup semi-finals while Michael Gough will be fourth umpire on Thursday’s match at Kolkata.

Kettleborough, who umpired his 100th ODI during this World Cup, will officiate a semi-final for the third successive Men’s 50-over World Cup when he walks out for the South Africa v Australia match.

Illingworth will be the on-field umpire for host nation India’s semi-final against New Zealand in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Illingworth was also in charge when the Black Caps defeated India in the semi-finals four years ago at Emirates Old Trafford.

Ahead of the knockout phase, ICC Manager of Umpires and Referees, Sean Easey, congratulated all the match officials involved.

“The officiating team has performed to a high standard to this point of the event, and I wish those in the knockouts all the very best,” he said.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Rod (Tucker) and Richard for their milestones during this World Cup. Such achievements are only earned via consistently strong performances which is a credit to each of them.”
