Azam Khan fined for disobeying umpire’s instruction

Karachi, 27 November 2023: Karachi Whites’ Azam Khan has been fined 50 per cent of his match fee for a level-I offence during his side’s match against Lahore Blues at National Bank Stadium, Karachi.

Azam was found to have violated Article 2.4 of the PCB Code of Conduct For Players and Players Support Personnel for repeated failure to comply with the instruction or directive of an Umpire during a Match.

Players and team officials are not permitted to wear, display or otherwise convey personal messages on their equipment unless approved in advance by both player or team official’s cricket association and PCB Cricket Operations Department.

Azam was asked to remove the sticker displayed on his bat or change the bat but he refused to do so. He was again given the same instructions but he refused to comply with the instructions of the umpires.

The sanction was proposed by match referee Muhammad Javed and the charge was levelled by on-field umpires Qaiser Khan and Imtiaz Iqbal.

Quetta team manager fined for code of conduct violation 

Karachi, 28 November 2023: Quetta team manager Muhammad Khair has been fined PKR 40,000 for a level 1 breach of the PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel for arguing with and criticising the umpires at the conclusion of the National T20 Cup 2023-24 match between Quetta and Lahore Whites at National Bank Stadium, Karachi.

Khair violated Clause 2.7 of the conduct, which relates to Public criticism of, or inappropriate comment in relation to an incident occurring in a Match irrespective of when such criticism or inappropriate comment is made.

Khair had argued with the umpires about the substitutes being allowed to bring helmet for Lahore Whites players regularly and also criticised the umpires on one of the wides called in an insulting tone.

The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Arif Yaqoob and Nasir Hussain, third umpire Faisal Afridi and fourth umpire Saqib Khan while the sanction was imposed by match referee Iftikhar Ahmed.
