Western Province left-arm spinner George Linde believes the team has what it takes to come out victorious in round five of the CSA 4-Day Series against Gbets Rocks at Boland Park on Wednesday, 27 December 2023.

Having won back-to-back at home, the focus of Salieg Nackerdien’s charges now shifts to the Cape derby as they look to end 2023 on a high.

Rocks currently sit bottom of the standings and Linde knows it won’t be an easy task between the two rivals.

“The mood in the camp is good. We are playing really good cricket at the moment and that is something we want to keep as well as keeping a winning mindset,” said Linde.

“Our training has gone well of late but I’m also happy to have some time off with family and friends over the festive period before our last game of the year.

“Obviously it won’t be an easy game, but we know where we are on the log and with another win we might finish on top of the summit before a few boys are off to SA20. So, we are expecting a good fight from our side.”

Linde is wary of the Rocks but knows what’s at stake for the team.

“They will look to get a result against us so we will have to be at our best against them on their home turf,” he said.

“They have a very good team, and we can expect a good fight from them. They can be a very dangerous side.

“To finish with a win will be amazing for us, once again I think if we win this game we might finish on top.”

The match is set to start at 10:00. Catch every ball live on the CSA YouTube page.
