Titans Cricket: SuperSport Park International Cricket Academy set to unearth talent

SuperSport Park is thrilled to unveil the inauguration of the stat-of-the-art International Cricket Academy, dedicated to nurturing cricketing talent on a global scale.

The Academy will run from 1 September 2024 until 15 November 2024, and be hosted at SuperSport Park.

World-class training facilities at SuperSport Park will be available for the entrants of the academy, and they include cutting-edge technology, expert coaches, and comprehensive infrastructure to hone your cricketing skills.

Expert Coaches will guide the development of players and allow learning from mentors with international experience, providing personalised guidance to elevate your game to new heights.

Coaches involved in the academy include Gary Kirsten, Albie Morkel and Allan Donald as coaches alongside the Titans’ head coach (CSA coach of the year for the last two seasons), Mandla Mashimbyi and Assistant Coach Richard Das Neves, among others.

The academy will also provide an opportunity to forge connections with cricket enthusiasts worldwide, foster a collaborative environment that transcends borders and promotes a shared passion for the sport.

“Our academy emphasises the importance of balancing academics and cricket, education and preparing athletes for a well-rounded future.” Explained Titans Cricket and SuperSport Park CEO, Dr Jacques Faul.

The Academy will include short courses in Sports Management, Event/ Project management, scoring and umpiring certifications among others.

The high performance environment will see players enrolled in the academy participate in matches against the Titans. This will allow you to gain invaluable exposure and opportunities to showcase your talent. Matches will also be played in Western Province, Boland and KwaZulu Natal.

Enrolment opens in January 2024. Stay tuned for details on how to join this exciting cricketing journey and the academy will include all accommodation, meals and clothing.

A squad of 15 players will be selected in the first year of the academy with the cost per player at $16 500. Future/potential professional cricketers are encouraged to apply for the academy. South African players are welcome to apply. We will consider players from anywhere in the world.

The Young Guns and Titans Pipeline projects will continue to provide free comprehensive training and opportunities to aspiring Cricketers.
