The Hobart Hurricanes, the Tasmanian Jack Jumpers and the Taste of Summer are working together to bring to life the Hottest ticket in town this summer.

On New Year’s Day, at Blundstone Arena the Hurricanes will play against the Sydney Thunder.  To get the New Year off to a great start, anyone with a ticket to either game can come to the Taste ahead of the match for free.

Taste of Summer’s Stephen McMullen said it was great to see three Tassie icons unite to do something special for the community.

“There are three must do things each summer in Tasmania – see the Jackies in action at MyState Bank Arena, watch the Hurricanes play at Blundstone and enjoy the best food and drink Tasmania has to offer at the Taste and now we’re making it even easier to get the New Year off to a great start,” Mr McMullen said.

“Both games start at 4pm, which means if you’ve got a ticket to either game, come down for lunch, show your cricket or basketball ticket to get into the Taste for free and enjoy the finest food, drink and sport in Tasmania.

“The Taste is all about celebrating the best of Tasmania and now that includes two of our iconic sports teams as well.  It’s going to be a great way to kick off the year.”

Mr McMullen said the offer was only valid on 1 January 2024 and only for people with a valid ticket to either the JackJumpers or Hurricanes game on 1 January 2024.
