The Scot Neil MacRae (March 25, 1972) will be the new national coach of the Dutch cricket women with effect from April 1, 2024. He succeeds Jeremy Bray, who took up the role on an interim basis following the departure of Shane Deitz to the West Indies.

The first big assignment for MacRae, who played international cricket for Scotland as a right-handed batsman, is the T20 World Cup qualifying tournament, which takes place in April and May. MacRae most recently coached the Jersey men. Before that he was national coach of Austria.

Neil MacRae: “I am excited to be working at the KNCB with the Dutch women’s team. The Netherlands has a talented squad that has a lot of potential to develop further. It is great to start preparing for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier in the United Arab Emirates, which is a huge opportunity in April and May.”

KNCB High Performance Manager Roland Lefebvre: “Three years ago, the KNCB really committed itself to women’s cricket by appointing Shane Deitz as national coach. During that time, the women’s team has shown enormous progress. We have every confidence that Neil will continue to do great things. will continue the work that Shane has started and wish him every success. The women’s team is a group of very talented young players who show great commitment and work very hard. We are excited to see them grow and contribute to the next phase of their development .”
