Friesland Wines is the official wine partner of SuperSport Park and Titans Cricket with the union and the wine farm signing a partnership until the end of the 2024/2025 season.

It is well known that cricket players and cricket lovers enjoy a good glass of wine and are appreciative of the finer things in life, making this good ground for a partnership between Friesland Wines and Titans Cricket.

Friesland Wine farm, located in the Bottelary Hills outside Stellenbosch (arguably South Africa’s premier winegrowing region), focuses on a core range of 6 wines, including 4 red and 2 white wines.

The farm is named after a province in the northern part of The Netherlands, which is a tribute to the first Steenkamps settling in the Cape in the late 1600’s.

Owner De Bruyn Steenkamp grew up as 4th generation on the family land, is a lawyer by trade and a Cape Wine Master. He along with his wife Marilise and the Friesland Wines team produce, package and sell their wines direct-to-consumer and to wine clubs.

”Gauteng is South Africa’s largest wine market and we believe the authenticity and personability of Friesland and our family story will resonate well in Pretoria. We’re also eager to bring our quality family Stellenbosch wines to the Titans and SuperSport Park!” Steenkamp told the Titans website.

“At Friesland, we value personal relationships and long-term partnerships, so we aim for our association with the Titans to be a long one. There is good chemistry, trust, energy and goodwill between the parties and we love working with good people!” Steenkamp explained.

Titans Cricket CEO Dr Jacques Faul shared his inputs on the partnership.

“We were very excited at the opportunity to partner with Friesland Wines. It’s always great when we form new partnerships, and we share so much with De Bruyn and his team, I have no doubt that this relationship will be a success for the both of us.

“I want to give the credit to our commercial manager Pierre [Joubert] who continues to attract good partners for us. He does very important work behind the scenes to ensure we continue to be a success; and he also has a trusted palate when it comes to wine.”” Faul continued.

Friesland Wines are not available in supermarkets but consumers can buy these exclusive Stellenbosch family wines on-line at https://frieslandwines.com/.
