The Betway SA20 Season playoffs get underway today – with Qualifier 1 between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Durban’s Super Giants – and so far only six lucky spectators, with immense amounts of BMT, have managed to successfully claim clean, one-handed catches to secure their share of the Betway Catch R2 Million prize money.
Four of the catches were taken at Centurion, the ground that has delivered the best opportunity for spectators eager to grab their share of the R2m due to its abundance of green grass banks.

Last season, nine catches were taken in total, so there is still time for that number to be matched or beaten, but it will take some skills from the fans heading to Newlands and Wanderers for the remaining fixtures. With over 400 sixes already smashed in 2024, playoffs spectators in the Mother City and City of Gold better be on high alert!

The Betway Catch R2 Million has also brought to light the need of local cricket coaches like 26-year-old Blessmore Chigova who snapped up the third catch at the hotspot that is Centurion. Chigova, a passionate cricket fan and coach, is eager to use his time in the limelight to uplift his students and get people to donate kit so they can pursue their dreams of playing in SA20.
“I really hope to be able to give the kids I coach new cricket equipment and to inspire them to chase their dreams to one day play in the Betway SA20,” said Chigova when asked about his fantastic one-handed grab and what he plans to do with his winnings.
