With an illustrious background in coaching and an impressive playing career, Kirby brings invaluable expertise to the Karachi Kings franchise.
Steve Kirby’s coaching journey is marked by significant contributions to various cricketing establishments. He is currently serving as the Bowling Coach for Zimbabwe as well as their Lead of pathway development.
He is playing a pivotal role in the development of talent and the growth of the sport. As the Lead of Pathway Development underscores his commitment to nurturing emerging cricketers, a vision that resonates deeply with Karachi Kings’ ethos of fostering talent.
Prior to his role with Zimbabwe, Kirby held key coaching positions with renowned cricketing entities. His tenure as the Bowling Coach of Somerset showcased his ability to enhance the skills of elite athletes, contributing to the team’s success on multiple fronts.
Additionally, Kirby’s experience as the Assistant and Bowling Coach of Derbyshire provided him with a nuanced understanding of the intricacies of fast bowling, further enriching his coaching acumen. Kirby has also served as the head coach of the iconic Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
