Melbourne Stars Abroad: WPL begins, Cartwright stars in One Day Final

Hilton Cartwright has capped off his white ball season with a player of the match performance in the Marsh Cup Final on Sunday.

Coming in at 3-30, Cartwright made an unbeaten 73 to guide WA home for their third consecutive title.

Fellow Star Joel Paris also delivered with the ball taking 4-21.

Sasha Moloney also tasted domestic success, taking one wicket in Tasmania’s win over Queensland.

Stars were scatted throughout the Marsh Cup and WNCL Team of the Tournaments, named by cricket.com.au with Meg LanningTom Rogers and Beau Webster all being represented.

The Delhi Capitals began their WPL with a tight loss against Mumbai with Meg Lanning (31), Alice Capsey (75) and Jemi Rodrigues (42) all contributing with the bat. Capsey also took 2 wickets with the ball.

Overseas, Glenn Maxwell was part of the Australian side’s T20 Chappell Hadlee Series whitewash against New Zealand.

Haris Rauf was ruled out of the remainder of the PSL after dislocating his shoulder against Karachi, whilst Usama Mir continues his good form, sitting 4th on the leading wicket takers for the tournament.
