ICC: Nassau County International Cricket Stadium marks one month construction milestone as timelapse video is released

The cutting-edge 34,000-seat modular Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York which is hosting eight ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 matches is making great strides as the first timelapse video was released marking the one-month construction milestone.

The World Cup which begins on 1 June has seen the project in Eisenhower Park, Nassau County, 30 miles east of Manhattan rapidly taking shape. There has been significant progress to the impressive East Stand – which will house 12,500 fans – over the past month with cranes lifting the modular framework in place. In addition, preparation work has started on the north and south premium hospitality and media pavilions, as well as the modular stadium’s outfield.

As expected demand for World Cup tickets is high, but fans can now access limited tickets for five of the matches at the Nassau County stadium and guarantee their spot to witness the global superstars of the game at the biggest cricket carnival ever by visiting tickets.t20worldcup.com.

Excitement of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup has been building as fans celebrated 100 days to go on 22 February with tickets going on general sale. The launch of the ‘out of this world’ campaign film, and larger-than-life cricket balls landing in the nine host locations including in Times Square in New York City and in Bridgetown in Barbados, marked the countdown to the biggest T20 World Cup ever.

ICC Head of Events, Chris Tetley said: “It is extremely exciting to see the progress made in the construction of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York over the past month. Work on the outfield commenced in January and in the past few weeks the East Stand framework has really started to take shape.”

All fixtures and local start times for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup are available here including the confirmation of the start time for the final in Barbados at 10h30 local time on Saturday 29 June. Notes:

The ICC is partnering with world class suppliers in the building of the Nassau County International stadium. The stadium has been designed by Populous a sports and entertainment venue architecture firm, Arena Event Services brings expertise from other global sporting events and will provide and install the stadium infrastructure with The Parker Company will project manage the build on behalf of T20 Inc.

The development of the pitches and outfield are being undertaken by The LandTek Group, US-based sports turf experts, assisted by Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions, and led by renowned Adelaide Oval Head Curator Damian Hough.
