World Sports Betting Western Province claimed the CSA T20 Challenge title in the inaugural Cricket South Africa (CSA) Professional Women’s Domestic League at WSB Newlands on Sunday.

Having already secured an insurmountable lead in the standings, WSB Western Province emerged as undisputed champions, having convincingly defeated the Fidelity Titans in both the CSA 1-Day Cup and CSA T20 Challenge matches this weekend.

In the CSA T20 Challenge on Sunday, the Province Women built on their 3-wicket victory from the previous day with an 8-wicket triumph, solidifying their CSA T20 Championship title in impressive fashion.

Batting first, the Titans set a target of 118, concluding their innings at 117/8 within the allocated 20 overs.

South Africa U19 and WP star, Jemma Botha, was the standout performer, delivering a match-winning performance. She claimed 3/19 with the ball and contributed 54 runs with the bat, ensuring her team’s undisputed status as T20 champions for the fourth consecutive time.

Meanwhile, in the men’s Division 2, Limpopo Impalas secured a six-wicket victory over the reigning CSA 4-Day Series champions, Northern Cape Heat, in Polokwane.

Despite falling short of a spot in the 4-Day Series final last month, the Impalas comfortably clinched the CSA T20 Knockout title with a six-wicket win.

Electing to bat first, the Heat posted a total of 132/9 in their allotted 20 overs, with Ernest Kemm top-scoring with 42 runs.

Daniel van der Merwe spearheaded the Impalas’ bowling attack, claiming figures of 4/18 in three overs, supported by two wickets from Don Radebe, as the home side collectively contained the visitors’ batting lineup.

In reply, Sizwe Masondo remained unbeaten on 51, complemented by 35 runs from skipper Ruan Haasbroek and a quickfire 18 off 8 deliveries from van der Merwe, guiding the hosts to victory with seven balls to spare.
