Scottish cricket has lost one of its biggest personalities with the passing at the weekend of Hamish More at the age of 81.

Latterly a dedicated follower of the Scotland team, Hamish had played 45 times for Scotland from 1966 to 1980, scoring 1947 runs, including 143 against MCC in 1969 & 134 against Warwickshire in 1973.

He was first noted as an all-rounder, able to bat, bowl & keep wicket whilst at George Heriot’s School, graduating to their FP side and the East of Scotland representative team when he left school.

He played for MCC sides until recent years, still supporting MCC teams against local schools after he stopped playing.

Cricket Scotland sends its condolences to his family and wide circle of friends.
