ACB: Former national player Karim Sadiq appointed as National Academy coach

Former national top-order batter Karim Khan Sadiq has been appointed as the coach in the National Cricket Academy in ACB.

Karim Sadiq is a former national player who has played 24 ODIs and 36 T20Is in which he has scored two centuries and a half-century respectively. Mr. Sadiq also holds a level-two coaching certificate and has vast experience in international and domestic cricket. 

Mirwais Ashraf, the Chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board appreciated the efforts of his former team-mate and stated that he was a hard-working player and is feeling happy to have his coaching services in the national cricket academy.

Mr. Karim Khan Sadiq has also thanked the ACB for keeping faith in him and providing him the opportunity to coach and train the youngsters in the field of cricket. He added: “Cricket has always been a sole source of happiness for our people, we have always shown immense commitment on the field and will now do my best to serve my nation as a coach in the national academy”.

It’s to mention that the ACB has launched the recruitment process for hiring a new head coach for the national team and is looking forward to having the services of a reasonable option as the permanent head coach of Afghanistan for the upcoming events.
