Over a thousand Brisbane Heat fans relished the chance to meet their Heat WBBL & BBL heroes at the Brisbane Heat fan day on Father’s Day this past weekend!

The Brisbane Heat fan day was the perfect launch to a jam-packed summer of cricket. Heat fans of all ages came out to Allan Border field to test their cricket skills in the blow-up inflatables and on the field, meet Heater, get their faces painted, grab heaps of free giveaways and best of all rub shoulders with their favourite players including Usman Khawaja, Jess Jonassen, Mitch Swepson & Grace Harris.

The beginning of the day saw our community cricket team host free Woolworths Cricket Blast Master Blaster clinics on Allan Border field, giving fans the opportunity to experience what it’s like to play on the home turf of Queensland Cricket. Heat & Bulls players also joined the fun, passing out their best tips and tricks for the kids.

Fans also had the chance to win some awesome prizes and merchandise from Brisbane Heat partners Betta, KFC & Nova 106.9. Players Xavier Bartlett, Matt Kuhnemann and James Bazley took on the StreetSmarts road safety quiz meanwhile Georgia Redmayne cheered fans on at Betta’s Spin to Win game. Kids also jumped at the chance to get their faces decorated in their favourite team’s colours, with many impressive illustrations being created. KFC also rewarded fans with the opportunity for a VIP experience to watch the KFC T20 Max Final in stylish comfort.

Fans then had the chance to grab signatures from the entire Heat BBL & WBBL squads in the Great Southern Bank signing tent. This opportunity was not to be missed with the line snaking all the way through the sponsor activations as fans queued to meet the squads.

The day wrapped up with the KFC T20 Max Final showdown taking place on Allan Border Field between the Gold Coast District Cricket Club and South Brisbane District Cricket Club. Fans enjoyed an awesome afternoon of cricket with some massive hits and epic wickets, with the Gold Coast Dolphins taking the chocolates, but not before an almighty scare from a gallant South Brisbane.
