Star Sports to offer live CPL and WCPL coverage with Hindi commentary for the first time
JioStar, through its Star Sports Network, has launched Hindi commentary for the 2025 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL), bringing the excitement of Caribbean cricket to millions of fans across India in their preferred language.
Fans can now enjoy every six, wicket, and dramatic finish with Hindi coverage available on Star Sports Khel, while English commentary will continue to be available on Star Sports Select 2 SD/HD and Star Sports 2 SD/HD.
Akash Chopra leads expert Hindi commentary panel
Former Indian cricketer and renowned commentator Akash Chopra will headline the Hindi commentary team, bringing his signature analysis and storytelling to CPL and WCPL matches. He will be joined by a panel of experienced cricket experts providing live coverage from 14 August to 21 September.
This marks the first time Hindi commentary is being offered for both CPL and WCPL matches, a move designed to expand the leagues’ global footprint and better serve South Asian cricket audiences.

Broadcast and highlights coverage
Through Star Sports Network, fans will also get access to match highlights with Hindi commentary and live coverage of six prime-time CPL matches scheduled at 8:30 PM IST.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy by CPL and JioStar to make Caribbean cricket more accessible and culturally relevant for viewers in India and other Hindi-speaking regions.
