Canterbury Cricket is looking for an Events and Marketing Coordinator to join our team in Christchurch.
This is a varied, hands-on role with a strong focus on event coordination and delivery, supported by marketing, communications, ticketing and commercial partner activity.
The role comes at an exciting time for cricket in Canterbury, with major projects ahead including the Canterbury Cricket 150th Jubilee in 2027, ongoing domestic matchday delivery, the transition into a new domestic T20 competition environment, and potential Cricket World Cup-related activity in 2028.
This role may suit someone with early experience in events, sport, venues, ticketing, membership, customer experience or administration who is looking to build their career in sport. It may also suit someone with broader experience who is looking for a role with variety, flexibility purpose and connection to the community.
While this is intended as a 40-hour-per-week role, we are open to discussing flexible working arrangements for the right person. We recognise that a highly capable candidate may be seeking flexibility around family, study or other commitments, and we are willing to consider how the role could be structured in a way that works for both the individual and Canterbury Cricket.
About the role

This will include supporting event logistics, run sheets, supplier coordination, invitations, guest lists, ticketing, event setup and on-the-day delivery. You will also support marketing and communications activity across the organisation, including EDMs, basic marketing collateral, ticketing setup through Flicket, and promotional activity for community cricket, high performance cricket, domestic cricket and major events. The role will work closely with our GM Community Cricket, CEO, Social Media Manager and wider CCA team, as well as partners, suppliers, District Associations and other stakeholders.

About us
Canterbury Cricket is the regional organisation responsible for leading and supporting cricket across Canterbury, from community cricket in clubs and schools through to our domestic high performance teams, the Canterbury Kings and Canterbury Magicians.
We are a small, busy and connected team, working closely with District Associations, clubs, schools, volunteers, commercial partners, New Zealand Cricket and the wider sporting community. Our work is varied, seasonal and people-focused, with a strong emphasis on delivering quality experiences for players, fans, partners and the broader cricket community.
The role is based at Canterbury Cricket in Christchurch. During the summer and around key events, there will be busy periods where the role is event-focused and hands-on. At other times of the year, the rhythm of the organisation allows for more planning, project work and flexibility.
