Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) hereby invites applications from suitably qualified individuals and business entities seeking accreditation as Player Managers recognized by Sri Lanka Cricket.

Applications are invited from:
a.) Individuals who are citizens of Sri Lanka; and/or
b.) Companies, partnerships, firms, or other business entities duly registered in Sri Lanka, who wish to represent, advise, manage, negotiate, or otherwise act on behalf of Sri Lanka Cricket contracted players at International, National and Domestic levels.

The accreditation framework is intended to ensure that players have access to competent, professional, and accountable representatives who comply with the standards and regulations established by Sri Lanka Cricket.

BENEFITS OF ACCREDITATION

Accredited Player Managers shall:

  • i. Receive official accreditation and recognition from Sri Lanka Cricket as a Player Manager;
  • ii. Be eligible to represent Sri Lanka Cricket-contracted players in accordance with SLC regulations;
  • iii. Be included in the pool of accredited Player Managers from which players may select their preferred representatives based on competence, experience, and professional services offered;
  • iv. Be entitled to negotiate and enter into commercial arrangements with players represented by them, including arrangements relating to commissions, management fees, retainers, profit-sharing mechanisms, or any other lawful remuneration structure mutually agreed between the Player Manager and the player;
  • v. Be eligible to market their professional services to players and prospective players within the framework established by Sri Lanka Cricket.

ACCREDITATION FEES

a.) Initial Accreditation Fee – USD 500
b.) Annual Renewal Fee – USD 250

TERMS OF ACCREDITATION

Accreditation shall be granted solely at the discretion of Sri Lanka Cricket and shall be subject to compliance with all applicable SLC regulations, policies, codes of conduct, directives, safeguarding requirements, and accreditation conditions.

Accredited Player Managers shall be subject to periodic reviews and annual assessments conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket. Failure to comply with the applicable requirements may result in suspension, revocation, non-renewal, or withdrawal of accreditation.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

  • i. Accreditation by Sri Lanka Cricket shall constitute only official recognition of the Player Manager by Sri Lanka Cricket.
  • ii. Sri Lanka Cricket does not guarantee, undertake, warrant, or represent that any player will appoint, engage, retain, or continue to utilize the services of an accredited Player Manager solely by reason of such accreditation.
  • iii. The acquisition, retention, and management of player clients shall depend entirely upon the Player Manager’s professional competence, experience, reputation, network, quality of service, commercial capabilities, and ability to attract and retain clients.
  • iv. Sri Lanka Cricket shall not be responsible for procuring, assigning, introducing, recommending, or allocating players to any accredited Player Manager. Accreditation shall not create any entitlement, expectation, preference, exclusivity, or right to represent any player.
  • v. Players shall remain free to select, appoint, change, or terminate Player Managers at their sole discretion and in accordance with applicable SLC regulations and contractual arrangements.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants shall satisfy the following minimum requirements:

i. Have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in sports management, player representation, business management, legal practice, marketing, sports administration, finance, or a related field;

ii. Possess suitable academic or professional qualifications relevant to player management, sports management, business administration, law, marketing, accountancy, finance, or a related discipline;

iii. Have no history of professional misconduct, disciplinary sanctions, criminal convictions, or legal disputes that may adversely affect their suitability as a Player Manager;

iv. Demonstrate financial integrity and have no history of bankruptcy, financial fraud, or similar misconduct;

iv. Possess the capability and expertise required to negotiate player contracts, sponsorship arrangements, commercial agreements, endorsements, and related matters;

vi. Demonstrate knowledge of ICC regulations, SLC regulations, anti-corruption requirements, conflict of interest rules, safeguarding requirements, and other applicable laws and regulations governing cricket and sport;

vii. Be capable of providing professional and dedicated services to players represented by them; and

viii. Consent to background verification, integrity assessments, and other due diligence processes conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

i. Sri Lanka Cricket reserves the absolute right to accept or reject any application that does not satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria and accreditation requirements.

ii. Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria shall not automatically entitle an applicant to accreditation as a Player Manager.

iii. Only shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview and/or any further assessment process as may be determined by Sri Lanka Cricket.

iv. Sri Lanka Cricket reserves the right to conduct background checks, integrity assessments, and due diligence inquiries on any applicant prior to granting accreditation.

v. The decision of Sri Lanka Cricket in relation to accreditation shall be final and binding.
