About the Role
Casual Cricket Officers play a key role in supporting SACA and the Community Cricket department in promoting entry level programs and the Australian Cricket pathway to recruit and retain players and volunteers. This role will involve but is not limited to providing exceptional experiences via delivery of Cricket Australia and SACA entry level programs and events, supporting match days and carnivals and other additional contributions as required that align with the SACA’s strategic goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Delivery of Woolworths Cricket Blast programs, SMASH Series Cricket, and Adelaide Strikers Holiday Programs at schools, clubs, and communities.
- Delivery of promotional activities in South Australian schools, including the Woolworths Cricket Blast Health & PE program, Sporting Schools, and school gate activations.
- Match management of SACA Super Cricket games and SACA Carnivals.
- Staffing of activations and events at W/BBL, domestic and international cricket fixtures.
- Match day or event assistant roles as required.
- Other administrative and delivery-based tasks as required.
- Intrastate travel with overnight stays while delivering programs.
Would also be great if you have…
- Understanding of community sport and the Australian Cricket Pathway.
- Understanding and knowledge of the entry level programs including but not limited to Woolworths Cricket Blast and Adelaide Strikers Holiday Programs.
- Understanding and knowledge of the South Australia Cricket landscape.
- Experience working with children.
- Experience coordinating, engaging and presenting to large groups of people (from children to adults).
- Experience in exceptional delivery of children’s programs, events and activities in a range of settings and environments.
- Experience in management of all ages of sporting carnivals and fixtures. (from children to adults).
- Willingness to complete work in a variety of diverse environments and locations.
- Woolworths Cricket Blast Coordinator Training Module, or willing to obtain.
- Community Coach Accreditation (formally known as Level 1) (Desirable).
- Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement.
- RAN Masterclass Certificate or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement.
- A current unrestricted driver’s license.
About SACA
The SACA is one of the nation’s premier sporting bodies, with a vision for cricket to be Australia’s favorite sport – a sport for all Australian’s. Operating within the sports and entertainment industry, SACA offers an exciting and dynamic working environment, and is responsible for overseeing and developing cricket on a State level.
The SACA is responsible for coordinating international and domestic cricket matches, Premier cricket matches and community carnivals, coaching and development and pathway programs for girls and boys, coaching, umpiring, volunteer development and ground management. It also administers high performance cricket in South Australia, including the SA Men’s and Women’s Teams and Adelaide Strikers women’s and men’s teams.
