Cricket ACT is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Ilott as its new Chief Executive Officer, bringing extensive experience in strategy, government relations, and stakeholder engagement to lead the organisation into its next phase.
Anthony joins Cricket ACT from Visit Victoria, where he serves as Director, Strategy & Planning,leading whole-of-organisation strategy, corporate planning, and performance frameworks. In this role, he delivered a new integrated organisational strategy, strengthened governance and reporting systems, and secured significant funding through successful government engagement and program development.
Anthony has held several senior leadership roles across Visit Victoria, the Victorian Government, Cricket Victoria, and Crown Melbourne. His experience includes leading corporate transformation and restructuring projects, delivering economic recovery programs for regional communities following bushfires, advancing major sporting infrastructure initiatives, and driving policy and regulatory reform. While at Cricket Victoria, Anthony led government relations and infrastructure engagement, playing a key role in strengthening partnerships and supporting the development of cricket facilities and programs.
Cricket ACT Chair Greg Boorer said Anthony’s breadth of experience across sport, government and major organisations made him an outstanding appointment. “Anthony is a highly accomplished leader with a deep understanding of the intersection between sport, government and community. Anthony has demonstrated a consistent ability to deliver complex strategic outcomes, secure significant investment, and build strong, enduring stakeholder relationships.
“Importantly, Anthony brings direct experience from within cricket, combined with a strong track record in organisational transformation and growth. This positions Cricket ACT exceptionally well as we continue to expand participation, strengthen pathways, and enhance the role cricket plays across the ACT community.” Boorer said.
Boorer added that the Board was confident Anthony would provide strong leadership at a pivotal time
for the organisation. “We are focused on ensuring cricket continues to thrive at all levels, from grassroots participation through to high performance and Anthony’s leadership, vision and collaborative approach will be critical in achieving this.”
Anthony Ilott said he was excited to join Cricket ACT and contribute to the continued growth of the game in the region. “I am honoured to be appointed CEO of Cricket ACT and to have the opportunity to lead an organisation that plays such an important role in the community. Cricket has a unique ability to bring people together, and I am passionate about building on the strong foundations already in place,” Anthony said. “My focus will be on strengthening participation across all levels of the game, supporting clubs and volunteers, enhancing pathways for players, and ensuring cricket remains inclusive, accessible and sustainable for future generations.”
Anthony said he was particularly looking forward to working closely with key stakeholders across the ACT and nationally. “Collaboration will be central to our success. I look forward to working with Cricket Australia, local clubs, government and community partners to unlock new opportunities, invest in facilities and programs, and further elevate cricket’s impact across the ACT.”
Anthony’s appointment reflects Cricket ACT’s ongoing commitment to strong governance, strategic growth, and delivering positive outcomes for players, clubs, and the broader community. Anthony will commence his role July 27, 2026.
