Babar Azam among 11 players in Pakistan’s NCA red-ball camp starting Tuesday

Led by interim red-ball coach Azhar Mahmood, the 20-day camp in Lahore aims to sharpen skills and fitness for Pakistan’s upcoming Test season.

NCA red-ball camp begins 9 September with 11 players ahead of packed season

Lahore, 6 September 2025 — The National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore will host a 20-day red-ball training camp starting Tuesday, 9 September, with 11 players selected to participate. The camp, designed to prepare players for the upcoming red-ball international and domestic season, will run until 28 September.

The players will report to the camp on Monday, 8 September. Oversight will be provided by interim red-ball head coach Azhar Mahmood, alongside the NCA coaching team and support staff.

Purpose of the red-ball camp

The camp has been curated to help players work on technical and tactical skills, improve fitness, and gain valuable match practice through scenario-based games. Selected players are those not currently featuring in the ongoing Hanif Mohammad Trophy (four-day tournament).
