A new addition to the cricket event calendar is set to debut later this year with the launch of the Beach Cricket Blast 2025, a one-day corporate cricket tournament scheduled for September 5–6 on a Barbados beachfront. The event, organized by the AMHC’s Cricket Impact Group (CIG), will bring together co-ed, 6-a-side teams for short-format matches played under a set of beach-adapted cricket rules.
The tournament has received support from the Barbados Royals and will be staged in collaboration with the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), which is extending its brand to new formats and settings. CPL CEO Pete Russell commented on the league’s involvement:
“We are very excited to be working with AMHC on this project which will bring the excitement of the CPL to the beautiful beaches of Barbados. There truly isn’t a better setting for this event than the stunning beaches of this wonderful country and we are looking forward to seeing this event go from strength to strength over the years to come.”
The format includes five-over matches and is intended to provide a professional atmosphere with a lighter tone. The event will feature live commentary, pitch-side interviews, a VIP lounge, and family-focused programming.

In addition to entertainment, the tournament will include a conservation element. For every ball that lands in the ocean, donations will be made to CORALL Barbados, a local nonprofit focused on coral reef restoration and community education. Organizers say this initiative reflects their broader commitment to environmental responsibility.
AMHC held a launch event in Barbados last week, with appearances by CIG Director and former World Cup winner Liam Plunkett alongside Barbadian star Jason Holder.
“This is not just a tournament; it’s an experience,” said AMHC President Adam Hall. “With the Caribbean Premier League as a partner, the Beach Cricket Blast 2025 not only fosters teamwork and camaraderie but also highlights Barbados as the ultimate destination for innovative corporate events and sports tourism.”
The Barbados Royals’ endorsement aligns the event with the team’s focus on grassroots cricket and community engagement, reinforcing the broader goal of showcasing Barbados’ cultural and sporting identity in a new format.
While still months away, the Beach Cricket Blast adds a new dimension to the region’s cricket calendar, combining sport, tourism, and social impact.
