Cricket Australia has extended its partnership with Kookaburra Sport for another four years, keeping the Australian equipment manufacturer embedded across the country’s cricket system through 2030.
The renewed agreement continues a relationship stretching back more than eight decades and will see Kookaburra remain an equipment partner of Cricket Australia. Its involvement extends across grassroots participation, development programmes, domestic competitions and international cricket.
Kookaburra extends its role across Australian cricket
Equipment supply remains at the heart of the partnership, with Kookaburra providing cricket products including match balls used across Australian cricket.
The relationship also connects Kookaburra with one of the most recognisable symbols of the Australian Test team. Since 2016, the company has produced the Baggy Green caps worn by Australia’s Test cricketers.
Cricket Australia Head of Commercial Sales and Partnerships Vanessa Foo said: “We are delighted to extend our long-standing partnership with Kookaburra through to 2030. Kookaburra has been a trusted partner of Cricket Australia for decades, supporting the game at every level, from grassroots through to the elite international stage. Many cricketers use Kookaburra’s equipment, and we are proud to continue working with them to create lasting summer memories for cricketers around the country.”
Partnership carries an operational role
Beyond its sponsorship and brand dimensions, the relationship is tied directly to the delivery of cricket through Kookaburra’s products. That equipment-based role distinguishes the arrangement from partnerships centred primarily on commercial exposure.
Kookaburra Sport Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Leigh Watts said: “Our partnership with Cricket Australia is built on a shared value of supporting all levels of our great game. We’re incredibly proud to continue supporting the players, coaches, and countless volunteers across the country who contribute so much to the game. Our commitment extends beyond providing the number one ball in cricket and world-class equipment – we’re committed to nurturing the game from grassroots to the elite level.”
Innovation remains part of the long-term relationship
Product development has also formed part of Kookaburra’s involvement in the Australian game. The manufacturer has worked on the pink ball used in day-night Test cricket and developed technology-focused products including the SmartBall, which captures data from cricket deliveries.
The four-year extension gives Cricket Australia continuity with an equipment supplier already integrated across several areas of the sport, while maintaining Kookaburra’s long-standing connection with Australian cricket.
