Cricket Australia has shattered its single-day ticket sales record ahead of the 2025/26 international summer, underscoring unprecedented demand for what is shaping up to be a historic season. More than 160,000 tickets were sold before the highly anticipated NRMA Insurance Ashes opener at Perth Stadium even went on sale.
The previous one-day sales record of 111,741 tickets—set in the 2017/18 pre-sale—was surpassed in less than five hours. This extraordinary demand reaffirms cricket’s position as Australia’s leading summer sport and sets the stage for a season that spans 11 cities and 14 venues.
“The record demand for tickets shows the excitement fans are feeling about the fantastic international season to come,” said Todd Greenberg, CEO of Cricket Australia. “To surpass our previous record before tickets in NSW and WA even went on sale is a remarkable achievement.”
Pre-sale now open; general public sale begins June 13
Pre-sale access is currently available at cricket.com.au/tickets/pre-sale, with general public tickets going on sale from June 13. Fans are strongly encouraged to book early, with some match-day allocations expected to sell out quickly.
“With pre-sale registrations up 23% year on year, we encourage everyone to get in early and secure their tickets—it’s going to be an unforgettable summer,” Greenberg added.
Massive 2025/26 international summer lineup
This summer features a full-strength Ashes series, high-stakes clashes against India and South Africa, and a multi-format women’s series against India, including a historic Women’s Test at the WACA.
The season kicks off in August with six white-ball matches between Australia and South Africa in Darwin, Cairns, and Mackay—highlighting Cricket Australia’s effort to bring elite matches to regional and northern venues.
