Ryan “Tendo” ten Doeschate announced on Friday that he has played his last international cricket match. Born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, the legendary Dutch international played his first international match in 2006 and has built unparalleled stats ever since. The KNCB would like to thank him for everything he has done for the sport, in the Netherlands and abroad.

Ryan ten Doeschate: “It has always been a privilege to represent the Netherlands”

“This is a bad tournament to finish in, but it was great to be part of the team again. It has always been a privilege to represent the Netherlands. The professionalism and dedication of this team and the staff is inspiring. I am grateful to the players, coaches and everyone who has been involved with the KNCB and given me the opportunity to experience some great highlights in international cricket.”

National coach Ryan Campbell: “Ryan ten Doeschate was the personification of Dutch hope”

“Sometimes words are not enough to sum up a career. It was an honor for me to coach him. His skills, knowledge of the game and composure under pressure were exceptional. He personified the hope that lives in Dutch cricket and gave us the belief that we could face any opponent. He will be sorely missed as a player, but hopefully for Dutch cricket we don’t have to say goodbye to him completely.”
