Dubai Capitals gear up for Global Super League title push in Guyana
GEORGETOWN, GUYANA – The reigning ILT20 champions, Dubai Capitals, have announced a power-packed squad for the 2025 ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (GSL), set to take place from July 10 to 18 at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
Leading the side is explosive West Indian batter Rovman Powell, the former national T20 captain and ILT20 Final MVP, whose aggressive batting style makes him a marquee attraction at the tournament.
Supporting Powell is an exciting mix of international talent and regional firepower. Kadeem Alleyne from Barbados brings brutal batting prowess, while left-arm quick Dominic Drakes provides pace and experience at the top of the bowling attack.
Other pace threats include Pakistan’s Farhan Khan, Canada’s Kaleem Sana-Ur-Rahman, and UAE seamer Zeeshan Naseer. The spin department is headlined by South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj, who is expected to thrive on Guyana’s spin-friendly tracks.
In the batting order, Sediqullah Atal (Afghanistan), Niroshan Dickwella (Sri Lanka), and several emerging stars such as Jesse Bootan, Jordan Johnson, and Ibrahim Masood round out a well-balanced squad.
The Capitals’ GSL campaign begins on Friday, July 11, with a high-octane clash against Hobart Hurricanes XI (Australia).
