The ICC has released a revised schedule for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, confirming that DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai will replace Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium as one of the five host venues for the tournament, scheduled from 30 September to 2 November.
Navi Mumbai steps in as potential Final venue
The decision was made due to the unavailability of the Chinnaswamy Stadium. DY Patil Stadium will now host up to five fixtures, including three league matches, one semifinal, and potentially the Final on 2 November.
The rest of the venues remain unchanged: ACA Stadium (Guwahati), Holkar Stadium (Indore), ACA-VDCA Stadium (Visakhapatnam), and R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo). The first match remains scheduled for 30 September, with India vs Sri Lanka in Guwahati.
Jay Shah: Navi Mumbai a ‘genuine home for women’s cricket’
ICC Chairman Jay Shah welcomed the venue change, highlighting Navi Mumbai’s growing status as a women’s cricket hub. “The support it has received during international fixtures and the Women’s Premier League has been remarkable,” Shah said.
“This World Cup has the potential to be a defining milestone in the women’s game, not only in India but globally. Despite the change, we now have a world-class venue lineup to deliver a memorable tournament.”
