Digital landmark for Test cricket
JioHotstar, the official digital broadcaster of the Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy 2025, achieved a record-breaking milestone with more than 170 million logins for the five-match India–England Test series. The platform recorded the highest-ever digital audience for a Test series, underscoring the enduring appeal of red-ball cricket when the stakes are high.
According to the Times of India, the series finale at The Oval drew close to 1.3 crore viewers on its fifth day, when India clinched a dramatic 6-run victory to square the contest 2-2. The inaugural Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy also generated nearly 65 billion minutes of watch time across its five matches.
Peak moments and multilingual reach
The thrilling finale also produced a peak concurrency of 13 million on JioHotstar — the highest ever for a Test match streamed digitally. Coverage was delivered in five languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, expanding reach across India’s diverse cricket audience.
Siddharth Sharma, Head of Content – Sports at JioStar, said in an official statement, “The extraordinary response to India’s tour of England reinforced Test cricket’s ability to forge compelling narratives in almost every session of every match. Reaching over 170 million viewers and setting new concurrency records is a testament not just to the thrilling cricket, but also to our commitment to delivering an immersive storytelling and viewing experience.”
Beyond the numbers
The series doubled as the launch of India’s ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 campaign and marked a shift in team leadership, which was highlighted through JioHotstar’s exclusive behind-the-scenes series Follow The Blues. The digital content gave fans daily insights into training sessions and key storylines, while a special feature, When India Challenged the Crown, revisited the team’s historic Test triumphs in England.
Building on momentum
Following the success of the Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy, JioHotstar aims to maintain its focus on cricket coverage with the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup India 2025, set to begin on September 30. Organisers are banking on the same blend of high-quality broadcasting and immersive storytelling to deliver another record-setting tournament.
